Meet the Liaisons

"We have been an eclectic Christian homeschool family since the fall of 2014, when we decided that the public school system was not meeting the educational needs of our youngest son who had been diagnosed as dyslexic. We also wanted to provide our youngest daughter with a better educational opportunity starting from Kindergarten. I’m excited to be a part of UHSG, and look forward to sharing my experiences and helping our group grow."

"We are secular eclectic homeschoolers who have been in Germany since 2010. My girls have been homeschooling for the last two years after spending some time in public school. Homeschooling works for us because it allows us the freedom to learn about things we are interested in, travel, relax, and spend time together as a family. It's important to us that our children become motivated, self-directed learners and that they know to always ask questions."

"Hello, I am a Christian homeschooling momma of four and have been homeschooling since 2009. I am a founding member of UHSG with hopes to establish a long lasting, strong support system for families considering homeschooling and homeschooling families moving to the area. I believe it is essential to equip my children with the necessary knowledge and wisdom to navigate a world full of diversity and come out on the other side with their beliefs intact…in order to live a godly path they need to be shown how to do that not just told about it. Building character is equally important to laying the foundation for a well rounded education. In doing so, we spend a balance of time learning in the real world as well as with our school books."

"We have been a secular homeschooling family since 2007. Our schooling methods are continuously evolving, but always include a strong emphasis on math and science. It is very important to me that my children learn to question everything and become lifelong learners. I first learned about secular homeschooling when I became a chapter leader for The Holistic Moms Network. I have always tried to become an active member within each homeschool group we have belonged to. I feel it is so important to provide as many learning opportunities as possible for our children, and the only way to ensure this is by volunteering to help provide these. It brings me such joy to see how the UHSG has grown in the last year and I am excited to be a part of it!"

"I homeschool so my son can have a truly personalized education. We are a secular family that practices home learning with a strong focus on the “bigger picture”. We have used a variety of learning methods but have found the best “ah-ha moments” usually come when we are just sitting around talking one on one. I am so happy help UHSG grow into a leading supporter for homeschooling families in the KMC."
